John has over 30 years leadership and management experience in the commercial and voluntary sector. Whilst working in the education and training sector he achieved an NVQ level 4 in Human Resource Development and a Level 5 in Operational Management. He completed his MA in Missional Leadership with Together in Mission (now For Mission College) and was ordained as a Baptist minister in 2014 after completing training with Northern Baptist College.
He is passionate about seeing people transformed by the love of Jesus and to go on to bring transformation to their communities; equipping and releasing people to fulfil their God-given destiny.
John has been married to Helen since 1988 and they have two grown-up children. He likes to relax by walking, doing DIY or just crashing on the sofa watching a movie.
Helen is an experienced administrator having previously worked in the commercial and statutory sectors. She has qualifications in community development and counselling. She has been leading worship for over 30 years and is eager to see people connect with the risen Jesus and to listen for his voice.
She also runs our Toddler Group, is the Family Support Worker at our TLG Centre and longs to see children and families living a full and abundant life.
Helen has been married to John for over 30 years and has two wonderful grown up children. She likes to relax walking in the hills, eating great food and reading a good book.
Gail trained and worked as a nurse in Australia. She has also held nanny positions in the UK and Israel. She moved permanently to the UK in the 1980s. She has been a member of the church since 1992 and graduated from the Activate School of Supernatural Ministry in 2016. She is currently studying for a BA in Theology and Mission with For Mission College.
As our pastoral lead, Gail is eager to see people recognize their true identity as children of God and to live this out in their daily lives.
She has been married to Andrew for over 27 years and they have three grown up children. To relax she enjoys eating with friends.
Chris has worked as a design engineer for over 20 years and currently works designing buses. Chris has been a Christian since 1980 and has been a member of the church since 1996. Over the years Chris has been involved in children’s work and is a gifted preacher.
He oversees our cell groups and is passionate about seeing people connect relationally and grow as they share the discipleship journey together.
Chris has been married to Sue since 1995 and they have two teenage boys. He has recently become more active and has run a number of triathlons.
Alex joined the church in 2011 after completing a BA in Theology at Cliff College. She became a Christian at the age of 18 with Ainsworth Methodist church and felt a strong call to ministry in Bolton. She is a Methodist Local Preacher, feels passionate about Social Justice and loves to help people begin and grow in their discipleship journey.
Alex is married to Patrick and they have a wonderful daughter Erin, their miracle baby. Alex enjoys playing bass, getting out in nature and drinking good coffee.
Patrick has been teaching Religious Studies at secondary school since 2012. Previous to that he studied for a BA in Theology at Cliff College after completing a gap year at The Oakes Christian activity centre, where he helped run camps for children by leading bible studies and outdoor activities.
He is passionate about building lasting relationships with young people and enabling them to unlock their potential. He is also a gifted worship leader and plays flute and keyboard.
Patrick is married to Alex and is Dad to Erin. He loves all forms of sport, regularly plays Irish folk music gigs with his talented family and loves escaping to Middle Earth in his down time.
John is a retired engineer having worked for the same organization for almost 50 years. He has been a member of the church since 1983 and has been part of the leadership team for almost 30 years.
He is a passionate prayer warrior and a loyal and generous supporter of the church vision. He longs for others to take hold of the vision and live it out fully in every area of life.
John has married to Philippa for 37 years and they have two grown up children. He likes to relax walking the dogs, taking holidays in the sun and enjoying a pint of real ale.
